KN AND ORLEN LIETUVA STRENGTHEN THEIR COOPERATION BY SIGNING A NEW AGREEMENT

The operator of oil and liquefied gas (LNG) terminals AB Klaipėdos Nafta (KN) and AB Orlen Lietuva have signed an agreement on petrol and diesel loading using the KN’s modernised tank truck filling station.

Under this long-term agreement, petrol and diesel will be loaded onto tank trucks. KN and Orlen Lietuva also have an agreement on oil product loading onto oil tankers, which is valid until 2024. 

At the KN Klaipėda terminal, at the request of customers oil and diesel can be mixed with additives, such as fuel markers, multi-functional and bio additives.

“Investments in the modernisation of the tank truck filling station have started to pay off since the start of the year. AB Orlen Lietuva is the third customer with whom we concluded an agreement on oil product loading onto tank trucks and possible extra services. KN has a goal to improve its infrastructure so that new customers are able to use its capacities and long-term partners are offered an expanded range of services. The services of the tank truck filling station are provided to all participants of the market on equal terms,” said Marius Pulkauninkas, acting CEO of AB Klaipėdos Nafta.
 
The modernisation of the tank truck filling station is one of the stages of the KN investment plan up to 2020, which was completed at the start of the year. During the implementation of the project, the KN’s existing tank truck filling system was upgraded so that its capacities are used to the maximum extent – up to four tank trucks can now be loaded simultaneously and four pieces of new filling equipment have been installed. 

The modernisation included the installation of two extra storage tanks, the construction of another pipeline for the loading of oil products onto tank trucks and the erection of a new storage tank for multi-functional fuel additives.
