The Stade LNG terminal is a planned LNG infrastructure project in northern Germany.
The project is being developed by Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH (DET), a company owned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. Final decisions regarding the commissioning of the terminal are currently still under coordination between the project partners.
KN Energies’ Role in the Project

KN Energies will begin providing management services as the commercial operator in the Stade LNG terminal project.
The commercial management services planned to be delivered by KN Energies include logistics operations management, regasification processes, gas metering and reporting, as well as other terminal operation services tailored to client needs.
KN Energies’ activities during the implementation of the Stade LNG terminal project:
- Provision of operational services, including LNG inventory management, planning, gas metering, and related IT infrastructure supporting commercial operations.
- Ensuring regasification capacity on a 24/7 basis and maintaining operational coordination between the transmission system operator and the FSRU on related matters.
- Involvement in the preparation of terminal use agreements and the open access model.
- Ensuring compliance with the Regulation on Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT) and the submission of other mandatory reports in accordance with EU regulations.
