The Subačius Liquid Energy Products Terminal, located in Kunčiai village in the Kupiškis District, is an important part of Lithuania’s energy security infrastructure. Its primary function is the long-term storage of the state’s oil product (fuel) reserves, in line with the requirements of European Union and Lithuanian legislation.
The laboratory is equipped with modern facilities meeting the European Union requirements for liquid energy product quality.
All external surfaces of the storage tanks are coated with heat-reflecting paint in accordance with LAND 35-2000 in order to fulfill the environmental requirements of regulatory documents and to prolong the storage tanks’ service life, as well as for anti-corrosive purposes.
All storage tanks’ bottoms are coated with paint resistant to oil products, which ensures both products’ quality and protection of the environment.
The accumulated technical know-how and experience enables KN Energies to increase the efficiency of the use of the available terminal capacities.
Firefighting equipment and systems are continuously upgraded, including the reconstruction of the underground firewater network and foam extinguishing systems.
Efficient, modern heating systems are used, and a solar power plant with a total capacity of 400 kW has been installed.
